A study of the surreal environments of night life in the city, and how alien they appear. Night time in the city creates an atmosphere that can be simultaneously frightening and alluring, and these two photos look at the relationship between the model and the environments around her. The colours are complementary and display how quickly moods can shift in these spaces, and also display the surreal nature of the neon worlds one can discover in the presence of darkness.

I was also exploring the vulnerability present when one explores these spaces, especially a young foreign teenager, and how society would view people differently depending on their culture. In the first photo she has the foundation of her culture and country behind her, and there is a stability and confidence that shows how the environment can change depending on how familiar you are with it. In the second photo the figure no longer projects confidence and confrontation, but is dwarfed by the environment around her. Here in this more alien landscape she is vulnerable and unsure of her position.
